Autism Dogs provide unconditional love and support for people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. 1 in every 68 children is diagnosed with some form of Autism. People with Autism often feel isolated and lonely. An Autism Dog's constant companionship can help alleviate this.

Autism ranges from very mild to very severe. People with mild forms of Autism, such as Asperger's Syndrome, are often the dog's handler. Individuals with more severe forms usually have a designated handler. South Plains Service Dogs does not have a minimum age requirement for handlers.
